“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” – Nelson Mandela
It’s important for schools and universities to give students an environment that promotes exploration and inspiration. Using a variety of signs and visual graphics helps create a unique, organized and positive campus environment and reflect school values. Here are four examples of effective education signage that make the grade.
When Tulane University refreshed their athletics center, branded signs and visual graphics were used to create an environment that could help attract top student athletes, express team pride, create bright and high-energy student areas and recognize the accomplishments of both current and past student athletes.
Huntley High School
Extending the school’s brand identity across the campus—from main entrances to the athletic fields—was a key goal for Huntley High School. The school’s branding (including the logo and mascot) is included on all campus signage including the exterior building and stadium signs, wayfinding and directional signs, and interior signs that welcome and help people find their way.
Austin Peay State University
Austin Peay State University’s branding is prominently and consistently displayed throughout the campus with larger-than-life window graphics, banners placed on athletic facilities, dimensional letters and canvas prints in hallways, decals on doors and wayfinding signs located in buildings and on the grounds.
Lake Canyon Elementary School
Wanting to promote school spirit, Lake Canyon Elementary School launched a new way for students to connect by assigning them to different “houses” to participate in engaging activities. Each house had a custom designed logo and specific color scheme, which were then displayed on signs and graphics around campus including posters, teardrop flags, printed shirts and more.
As you can see, it’s very impactful for schools and universities to extend their branding and create a unified environment across all touch points. These are just a few of our favorite examples. If you have a favorite example, tweet us at @FASTSIGNS.
